Ryan - Owner Of The Shop
My name is Ryan Baxter and my wife (Juanee) and I own Modern Auto Service in Fruitland, Idaho. We both graduated from Fruitland High School in 2007 and then studied at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg. Juanee became a registered nurse and received a Bachelors degree in General Studies and I received a Bachelors Degree in Automotive Technology Management. I worked as a technician through school and for a short time afterwards and became an ASE Master Certified Technician and Advanced Level Specialist. I worked for a few great shops that were honest and provided quality service but I found that many people were skeptical and uncomfortable with the process of repairing their vehicles. Customers that knew me personally felt more comfortable but what about the people that needed their vehicles serviced and didn't have a personal connection?
Modern Auto Service is our best effort at solving that problem. We have great employees that provide our customers with clear information using digital inspections with pictures of the damages we find. We provide loaner vehicles to accommodate our customer's busy schedules and a clean waiting room with snacks and a children's area. Our technicians are certified and undergo continuing education to stay current with changes in the industry. Finally, we have an advanced repair facility with the tools and equipment to service your vehicle correctly. Whether you need a simple oil change, tires, alignment, or engine replacement, we are equipped to handle all your automotive needs in one location. We love Fruitland and the surrounding communities and we try to support them in any way we can. Lindsey Clinton- Office Manager
Lindsey started working with us in March of 2017. She started as a service advisor and has grown with us. She is a now a key player in keeping the shop organized and running smoothly, Our customers love Lindsey because she is friendly and always greets them with a smile.
Lindsey is a long time resident of the area and she loves to spend time with her family in her free time.
Kevin Bergquist- Master Technician, Diagnostic Specialist, Service Manager
Kevin jointed our team at the end of 2019. He was born and raised in Weiser Idaho but left the area to attend college at Brigham Young University- Idaho. During his college career he moved to Dearborn Michigan where he completed an internship with Ford Motor Company. His internship consisted or technical training and assisting dealership technicians in troubleshooting problematic vehicles.
After College, he moved to Utah and worked for a Master Muffler Franchise. He is excited to be back in the community with his family. Like the rest of us, Kevin loves to be outdoors with his family.
Brody Marvin- Master Technician
Brody started with us in November of 2017 while he was still in high school. After graduating high school in Vale, Oregon he moved to Arizona to attend Universal Technical Institute for Automotive Technology. He returned to Modern Auto Service in the fall of 2019 and passed the required tests to become a Master Technician shortly thereafter. Brody has a passion for diesel technology and has become a major resource as we have grown this segment of our business.
Brody enjoys the outdoors and making his trucks fast!
Travis Pavlacky- Service Advisor
Travis started working with us in January of 2021. He is local and had been commuting out of the area for work previously. Hiring Travis has been a win-win as we are able to draw from his great experience in the automotive field (both as a technician and service advisor) and he is able to spend more time with family now that he does not need to commute.
Travis spends much of his free time with his family at the race track. His son races Go-carts and he and his daughter race a variety of classes at the Meridian Speedway.
